Recent News- Some CLCC members recently returned from attending the Congress on the Lutheran Confessions, which was held April 21-23 in Bloomington, MN. We heard many good speakers. The topic was “Confessing the Faith”, which really is Evangelism. The CLCC had a table there to hand out information on who we are, and what we do, and get more names to add to our contact list. We also networked with others interested in inviting us to do a seminar at their church. One in Sept and one in October are now possibilities. We also held a meeting there on Wed evening to update CLCC members on what all we’ve been doing, and discuss future possibilities. We are growing and there are some exciting prospects for our future. Gene and LeRoy met with Rev Daniel Preus and Rev John Fuhrmann to arrange the 2011 Regional Conference to be held the day before next years ACL (Congress on the Lutheran Confessions). We’ll meet May 3-4, and the ACL will run from May 4-6, 2011. We will keep you updated, and hopefully you will be able to attend and possibly stay for the ACL while you’re there. If you normally come to the ACL we hope you’ll consider coming one day earlier to be able to attend our conference, too. You’ll be able to see more of what we do, and who we are. This same meeting arrangement with ACL was also made for the year 2012, when we will have our second CLCC Convention. Fall Schedule- Gene and Michael are working on arrangements and PR for the fall seminar schedule. Included in that schedule will be another short RV trip into N. CA to do additional seminars. The first time our seminar on Organizational Structure of LCMS Congregations will be presented be Nov 6 in Bayside, NY. CLCC Instructors - In May, Matt Jamison, will finish his training to be an instructor in Evangelism, Outreach and Assimilation, and Pr. Dan Freeman will finish up for Your Reformation Walk. In Sept it is planned for Pr. Paul Rosburg to finish up his training on Evangelism, Outreach and Assimilation. He has agreed to teach for us in WY and MT. Pr. Tim Winterstien will finish up his training on Worship and Divine Service, as soon as we can get that seminar scheduled in the NW MN and Eastern Dakotas area. Pr. Gary Zieroth has volunteered to put together a new seminar for us. More details later will be provided soon. Treasurer & Financial Review -The Board of Directors has appointed Deanna White as Asst. Treasurer and she has assumed those duties starting in March. Rev. Al Jeske and Mr. LeRoy Sundbom conducted the bi-annual financial review of the CLCC’s financial reports. This review was conducted on April 21. Website -The Board of Directors has agreed that all current and future CLCC instructors should be appointed to that status and listed on the website. Our Webmaster, Shaun Ryan is currently working on adding a map to the website for seminars. The map will show a pin where seminars have been held or scheduled. By clicking on the pin you will see the name of the church and the titles and dates for seminars held at that location. They will be found on the “Seminars” page. Volunteer Request-I am currently looking for someone to assist me in getting the Seminar information out to certain places like the Wittenberg Trail, the Christian News Magazine, and Brother of John the Steadfast calendar. If you are able to copy and paste information into an email please let me know. Blogger Request-I’d like to ask any of you that have blogs, web sites, Facebook pages, etc if you would please consider putting a link to the CLCC website on your page. That can be a great way to get our name and web address out there. We may be able to put a link to your blog/website on our site. I think we’re working on that. Training our children in the way they should go- Please send me any suggestions you have on good books, cd’s, video’s, and websites, that we can list for parents to have resources to teach their children the Small Catechism, or in other words, the faith. I think it will help a lot in the long run if they know the catechism prior to starting formal catechesis. New Congregational Membership-Grace Lutheran Church is El Paso has recently become a member of the CLCC. We welcome their membership! You may consider having your congregation become a member, too. Congregational membership is $200/year. For more information contact Matt Jamison at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it As you can see we are off to a very busy year. We need more members to help us to be able to continue offering more seminars. Please tell other people about our organization, and if you’re not a member, please consider joining us. It costs $30 a year, and we hope you agree it will be money well spent. We are very frugal with our funds. In Christ, Kari Anderson, PR for the CLCC This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it |
