The CLCC Convention
April 5, 2016 - April 6, 2016
We’re gearing up to celebrate our past as we prepare for the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, but if we don’t teach our kids the faith, will we have a future? Join us in MN from April 5th – the 8th as the past and future faithfulness converge the first week of April.
The ACL and Luther Academy are hosting their annual Free Conference on April 6-8 in Bloomington MN and the Confessional Lutherans for Christ’s Commission (CLCC) would like to invite you to join them and us. The CLCC will be bringing to you on Wednesday morning, the 6th, Pr. Jeremiah Johnson, as he talks about practical ways to pass on the faith to our children, because “Catechesis Begins in the Home”.
If you’re in town on Tuesday April 5, the night before, Pr. Rob Jarvis of the CLCC will be talking about the struggles of the Reformation after the presentation of the Augsburg Confession. Had it not been for the faithfulness of those who followed Luther, we would have had no future nor a past.
The Road to Augsburg and Beyond
Rev. Rob Jarvis, Hosanna Lutheran Church, Buffalo MN
Tuesday, April 5, 2016
7:00-8:30 p.m.; registration begins at 6:30pm
Learn what needed to be done to preserve the Reformation from Rev. Jarvis.
Sometimes it seems history goes dark after the Presentation of the Augsburg Confession, and the assumption is that from then on, the Reformation went smoothly. That was hardly the case! Join us as we talk about circumstances and situations leading up to Augsburg that continued well beyond it and what needed to be done to preserve the Reformation.
Cost: $15, includes CLCC’s newest book, The Reformation and Confessions
Catechesis Begins at Home
Rev. Jeremiah Johnson, Glory of Christ Lutheran Church, Plymouth MN
Wednesday, April 6, 2016
9:00-11:00 a.m.; registration begins at 8:00am.
See a parent-friendly system of catechesis demonstrated by Rev. Johnson.
Parents know they are responsible to pass on the faith to their children, but aren’t quite sure how. Sunday School and confirmation programs have been doing it for years, but it’s apparent more is needed. Pr. Johnson will be talking about and demonstrating a parent-friendly system he developed to get the family to anticipate the next Sunday’s Divine Service.
Cost: $15 (Attend both days for $25)
A brief business meeting of the CLCC will be held after this presentation.
CLCC’s conference is immediately followed by the 2016 Congress on the Lutheran Confessions held by the Association of Confessional Lutherans and the Luther Academy.
