Our faculty is comprised of LCMS pastors and several qualified layman with teaching experience. When a seminar is scheduled, we select an instructor from our faculty based upon experience in that particular topic and geographic proximity. Our current roster of faculty is presented below:


Pastor FreemanRev. Daniel Freeman, (M. Div) Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, (B.A. Theological Studies) Concordia College, Portland, OR is the Pastor of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, U.A.C. of Chehalis, Washington. Pastor Freeman and his wife, Dawn, have four children.

mikeHawkinsv2Mr. Michael Hawkins (B.S.) Milton College, Milton, WI, is a transportation specialist for a Midwestern metals service center. He has been teaching Adult Bible studies for the past 30 years and has completed the first level of the Lay Ministry program at Concordia Mequon.

robJarvisRev. Robert Jarvis, (M.Div.) Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, is the pastor of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Minnesota. Rev. Jarvis served on the working group that formed CLCC and is chairman of its board.

ericLangeRev. Eric Lange, (M.Div.) Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, (S.T.M.) Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, is the senior pastor at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Gresham, Oregon. Rev. Lange taught a term at the Lutheran Seminary in Novosibirsk, Siberia, and has served as a featured speaker on Table Talk Radio, at the Augustana Ministerium 2013 Theological Conference, and the Higher Things “Crucified” conference in Logan, Utah.

ToddPeperkornRev. Todd Peperkorn (M.Div., S.T.M) Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, is the senior pastor at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Rocklin, California. He has taught courses for Concordia Theological Seminary, Concordia University Wisconsin, Higher Things, various pastoral and lay conferences, and has had articles published in Concordia Theological Quarterly, Concordia Historical Institute Quarterly, Logia, and Issues in Christian Education. He is also the author of I Trust When Dark My Road: A Lutheran View of Depression, and of Lent series on the Penitential Psalms entitled God’s Gift of Forgiveness, published by Concordia Publishing House. He was the founding editor of Higher Things Magazine, and is a graduate of DOXOLOGY. He and his wife, Kathryn, have four children.

JeffreyRies2CroppedRev. Jeffrey Ries, (M. Div) Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, (B.A. Religious Studies/Philosophy) Oregon State University, is the Pastor at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tacoma, Washington. Rev. Ries has taught Church History and Christian Ethics at the High School level, and breakaway sessions on theodicy and theology of the cross for Higher Things. He has authored articles for Lutheran Witness (magazine and blog) and is an occasional guest on KFUO Radio’s “Thy Strong Word” Bible Study program.

acschwarkw600Mr. A. C. Schwark, (MBA) Washington University, Saint Louis, is a retired financial manager having served as Senior Vice President and CFO at Bank One, Cincinnati. He subsequently chaired the College of Business for the University of Phoenix in Seattle and continues to teach finance and economics on an adjunct basis. He a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and served as a lay delegate at the 2013 LCMS convention in Saint Louis.

karlWeberRev. Dr. Karl Weber, (D Min) Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, and currently is pastor at St. Paul’s in Richville and St. John’s in Ottertail, MN. He served as a short term missionary in Guatemala and Kenya, East Africa, and has contributed study notes to The Lutheran Study Bible and to The Apocrypha: The Lutheran Edition with Notes (ALEN).
