Catechesis Begins in the Home
9:00-11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 6th, registration at 8:00 a.m.
Cost: $15 each, or attend both days for $25
CLCC’s conference starts on Tuesday evening, April 5th, with Rev. Rob Jarvis presenting “The Road to Augsburg and Beyond.” He will provide a quick look at the historical conditions before Augsburg that came to threaten the very existence of the Reformation. Attendees will see the conviction of those who sought to preserve the truth and be encouraged to stay strong in their own confessional identity. The $15 registration fee includes CLCC’s newest book, The Reformation and Confessions.
On Wednesday morning, April 6th, Rev. Jeremiah Johnson will be presenting “Catechesis Begins in the Home”. Parents know they are responsible to pass on the faith to their children, but often aren’t quite sure how. Come see the system Rev. Johnson has developed to help parents pass on the faith. His presentation will be especially geared for pastors and lay leaders to learn, and then share with their home congregations. During the second part of the morning we will have time to brainstorm how these ideas, and others, could be applied in our parishes. Visit the CLCC website for more complete information. Cost: $15 (Attend both days for $25.)
The ACL/Luther Academy conference begins at 1:00 p.m. on April 6th and goes till noon on Friday, April 8th. We hope you will join us for both these fine conferences!
We had a conference titled “Ordaining Women: Why We Don’t“ on Saturday, February 27th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Garfield, MN. Over 50 people attended, representing 16 different congregations. Thank you, Rev. Dr. Karl Weber for teaching us all day! And thank you to St. John’s for hosting this event for the past 4 years!
