Brothers and sisters in Christ,
I hope you all had a great summer! I know it went way too fast for me. In June I attended the Issues Etc. conference. That was a special treat. I also was glad to be able to attend the MNN LWML Convention in St. Cloud, MN. We had CLCC information out at both of these conferences.
We have four seminars scheduled for this upcoming fall season:
- “Your Reformation Walk” at Zion Lutheran Church, Tacoma, WA on September 27, 2014
- “Doctrine of Vocation” at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre, PA on October 4, 2014
- “Your Reformation Walk” at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Medford, OR on October 18, 2014
- “Worship and Divine Service” at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and School, Munster, IN on November 8, 2014
Starting next month, we will be accepting requests for seminars and other events for January– March, 2015. Gene White will continue to handle scheduling until a new Director of Education can be selected. We hope you might consider volunteering to take over that endeavor. Gene will be available to get you trained and help as needed.
Our Worship and Divine Service seminar has been refreshed with a new color scheme and rearrangement of some hymns. More importantly, we were able to obtain recordings of early church liturgy and have incorporated them into Lesson 1.
We are hoping to have tables/booths at more upcoming LCMS district conventions in the future. I think it is a good way to be able to visit with people about who we are and what we do. If any of you are willing to work a table in your area please let us know. While nice to have it manned, it is not totally necessary, so you wouldn’t have to be tied up too much.
Gene regretfully informs us that due to staffing changes and logistics issues Holy Cross is unable to host the 2015 Regional Conference in Rocklin, CA. However, the planning effort has not been wasted. CLCC will flesh out the agenda, guidance, and resources needed to hold such a conference, and post that information on www.theclcc.org. Once posted, anyone can use the information. It will likely be sometime in October before all of the information is available.
Well, I think that is all for now. I hope you have a blessed September. Please try to attend one of these scheduled seminars, and invite others to get on our email/mailing list. We wouldn’t mind getting some more new blood involved. We want to thank Laura Hern for beginning to help us with redoing some brochures and I’m hoping to write the Anchor sometimes too.
